grand piano from a borough church. The Steinway & Sons piano was reported stolen from the Calvary Chapel
Church on Fairfield Avenue on Feb. 26 at 8:20 p.m., said Sgt. Frank DeNick. The church’s president told police that the piano was last seen inside the church
the previous afternoon.
The piano is believed to have been built in the 1890s, DeNick said, and initial estimates put the item’s value at between $30,000 and $50,000.
An investigation by police revealed no signs of forced entry in the church and no indications that any unauthorized person was inside the building, DeNick
said. That investigation is ongoing, he added.
Anybody with information about the case is asked to call Middlesex Borough police Det. Daniel O’Connor at 732-356-1900, ext. 223.
