ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -- A bible stolen from St. John Lutheran Church was located Wednesday after an antique dealer with a keen eye stepped in.
According to church officials, an employee at Hammonds
Antiques and books was able to buy the bible off of the suspect and then contacted the church.
The Hammonds employee reportedly told officials the suspect was walking up and down Cherokee Street attempting to sell the bible off.
When he entered Hammonds, in the 1900 block of Cherokee, the employee noticed the bible and offered $30 dollars for it.
Wednesday night, the book is safe and should be back with the church by the end of the week.
