Two collectible cars were reported stolen from a storage facility in Summerfield on Sunday afternoon.
Kirk Lattig of the The Villages said he last saw the cars at Audrey Smith Storage at 14535 S. U.S. 441 in August. A 1958 Porsche 356A was stored inside a locked unit and a 1972 Chevelle SS was parked outdoors, according to Marion County Sheriff's Office reports.
When Lattig went to check on the cars Sunday, they were gone. He said the Porsche, which can be worth several hundred thousand dollars when restored, was not drivable, but the Chevelle, which can sell for tens of thousands when restored, was operational, reports state.
Officers were not able to contact anyone from the storage facility Sunday, according to reports.
