REDLANDS - Precious Times Antiques celebrated a milestone on Saturday - its 20th anniversary.
Cake, music and refreshments welcomed shoppers to the Redlands Boulevard store as they walked down the aisles browsing through merchandise made as early as the 1900s.
Owner Linda Amsbry smiled as she interacted with shoppers, some of whom had been customers since the shop opened.
Amsbry credited her customers and her staff of nine part-time employees for the store's success. "Most of these people here today has helped us stay open... and they enjoy coming to the shop. To see everyone here is a blessing," she said. Amsbry is happy that the store has remained opened in the ever-changing antique world and the current slowdown in the economy.
"I just have devoted customers, staff members and dealers who are devoted to their businesses," she said.
Pam Morris has been a Precious Time Antiques vendor for 15 years and volunteered her time on Saturday to serve cake from Martha Green's off Citrus Avenue and homemade strawberry punch.
She called Ambry's store "wonderful."
"And you get to meet the most wonderful people and deal with wonderful people. It's a lot of fun," she said. "This is a good antique store for people who love antiques."
Precious Times Antiques is at 1740 W. Redlands Blvd. and is open from 10 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. daily.
